INTEGRATED ATHLETIC ASSESSMENT (IAA)

The Velocity Sports Performance Integrated Athletic Assessment is a detailed evaluation aimed at enhancing an athlete's performance. Here’s a breakdown of its key features:

PURPOSE

Objective: Analyze an athlete's physical capabilities, movement patterns, and readiness for training.

COMPONENTS

1. Initial Athlete Intake

  • Sharing of background info (school/ club teams/sports).
  • Review of medical history and short- and long-term personal goals.
  • Identification of pre-existing conditions and training scope.

2. Quality of Movement (QoM) Screening

  • Assesses biomechanics to pinpoint areas of compensation and imbalance.
  • 10 video files collected of ankle, knee, hip, rib cage, shoulder girdle, elbow, and wrist function.

3. Performance Tests

  • Stability Tests: measures proprioceptive and vestibular function
  • Strength Tests: dynamometers safely and reliably measure force production in the foundational squat, hinge, push, pull, and bracing patterns.
  • Vertical and Broad Jump Tests: Measures multi-directional explosive power.
  • Sprint Evaluations: Assesses tri-phasic speed.
  • Agility Drills: Evaluates quickness, coordination, and ability to change direction.

FAQs

The Velocity training system is built around individual programming. Without this essential discovery ~ you would be entering a training program designed for someone else, far from optimal in execution and results.

At Velocity, we recognize that trials are common in the fitness industry. However, we found that allowing trial athletes to join sessions disrupts our current athlete progression and provides an inaccurate experience for newcomers, who end up doing workouts designed for others with a coach unfamiliar with their needs. As a result, we eliminated trials, enhancing our training quality and culture.

The IAA costs $149.99. This fee covers a one-hour assessment workout, a ViPR report, and access to the ViPR portal, which includes interactive comparison charts and a PDF exportable dashboard. Additionally, all program design hours outside of your training sessions are included. There is no extra initiation fee required before joining.

No, the coach assigned to your IAA will not always be your coach. Our performance staff works collaboratively as a team, bringing together their diverse perspectives and expertise to design and implement each athlete's program. This approach is similar to a college sports performance department, ensuring that programming and coaching decisions are collective. This teamwork helps us avoid the limitations of the traditional "personal trainer" model.
